Find out why we grow biodiversity boarder gardens!
On our flower farm, we’ve dedicated the boundaries to the bees and plants that attract predatory insects, creating a vibrant and essential ecosystem. These areas not only providing vital pollination for our flowers but also support beneficial insects like ladybugs and lacewings that help control pests naturally, reducing the need for chemical pesticides. By fostering a diverse range of plants and creatures, we promote a balanced environment where pollinators thrive and predators keep harmful pests in check. This biodiversity boosts the farm’s resilience, ensuring healthier crops and a more sustainable, harmonious system overall. It’s a beautiful reminder that, in nature, every plant and insect has its role, and when they all come together, they create something truly extraordinary.
Fun fact: Did you know that a single ladybug can eat up to 5,000 aphids in its lifetime? By creating spaces for these natural predators, like ladybugs and lacewings, we’re inviting tiny, hard-working “pest control agents” onto the farm to help keep harmful insects in check—no pesticides required!
